So keep on strafing like that untill your opponent cant be reached. Then press W and d if you were strafing by the w and a way or the opposite. The reason you are doing this move is because you want to trade with your opponent because as they are in lower hp they want to avoid fighting and gapple but you want to go in and kill them.
The 3 most common ways to strafe are circle strafing, where you use your a & d keys and circle around you opponent, straightlining, which is the worst of the three since all you do is go straight, and it usually doesn’t work, and then side strafing where you use a, d & s to go back and side to side. Hope this helped.
players also set it to the middle click on a mouse using the scroll wheel (known as button 3 on minecraft settings). Set it to whatever is easiest to constantly hold down while playing. Strafing Strafing is essentially moving in circles around a player when attacking them so you can dodge their hits.
Strafing Strafing is when you move, often from side to side but also in a circle around the target to avoid getting hit. This can’t be used in crowded areas, and is easier to do on flat ground. This takes a while to master, but is 100% worthwhile and highly recommended.

4. TEACHING NEW PLAYERS: tipped arrows seem pretty tucked into the last second in Minecraft, the way you get them is pretty unintuitive and the only natural appearing ones are strays. This is a great way to help new players see that they exist and making them ask questions about how to make them, which enriches the experience.
I am unable to strafe right while holding control for a few seconds, like running into an invisible wall. Steps to reproduce: Load up any Minecraft world running the newest official release or snapshot, and start sprinting by holding control. Then, hold the D key down and try to strafe right. What is the best way to strafe?

Is strafing a good move in Minecraft?
While strafing it is good to jump up and down, to sort of ‘bob and weave’, and also to give criticals, which I will explain next. In Minecraft when you are mid-air moving in a downward direction and hit someone, that hit will do up to 50% more damage, plus one heart.
How do you use strafing as a sprint attack?
Strafing Strafing is essentially moving in circles around a player when attacking them so you can dodge their hits. It is much harder to strafe when using only the double tap to sprint. Like mentioned above I highly suggest using the control sprinting, or whatever key you set it to.
What button should I Set my strafing to?
I personally keep it as the Control button, however many players also set it to the middle click on a mouse using the scroll wheel (known as button 3 on minecraft settings). Set it to whatever is easiest to constantly hold down while playing. Strafing is essentially moving in circles around a player when attacking them so you can dodge their hits.
